Galgos are intelligent dogs and can be trained by motivating them with rewards. It is important to teach them its name and to come to the call. In general, they don't enjoy obedience or other canine skills, prefer to be walking, socialising with other dogs or people, exploring, running and, if not, sleeping!

The plight of the Spanish Galgos\n\n Each year, approximately 60,000 Spanish galgos (hunting dogs) are abandoned or tortured to death in Spain, especially in the communities of Castile and Leon, Extremadura and Andalusia. Galgos are primarily used by hunters (galgueros) to hunt hares.
